Overview

Tutu Much Refund & Returns Policy

Effective Date: July 1, 2026

At Tutu Much, our goal is to create a trusted marketplace where dance studios and dancers can confidently buy and sell costumes, dancewear, props, and accessories. Because Tutu Much is a peer-to-peer marketplace, most items are sold by independent dance studios rather than by Tutu Much directly.

Please read our Refund & Returns Policy carefully before making a purchase.


General Policy

All sales made through Tutu Much are considered final unless an item qualifies for protection under the Tutu Much Buyer Protection Program described below.

Since many items are one-of-a-kind, discontinued, or gently used, buyers are encouraged to carefully review all photos, descriptions, measurements, and condition details before purchasing.


Buyer Protection

A buyer may request a return or refund if the item received is:

  • Significantly different than described
  • Incorrect item shipped
  • Incorrect size from what was listed
  • Missing major components that were listed as included
  • Arrived damaged due to inadequate packaging
  • Counterfeit or misrepresented as an authentic branded product

Returns Are NOT Accepted For

Returns will generally not be approved for:

  • The item does not fit as expected (when the listed size is accurate)
  • Color appears different due to screen settings
  • Buyer changed their mind
  • Performance or recital was canceled
  • Buyer ordered the wrong item
  • Minor wear that was accurately disclosed
  • Slight variations in color or embellishments
  • Items marked “As-Is” or “Final Sale”

Inspection Period

Buyers have 3 calendar days after delivery to inspect their purchase.

If there is an issue:

  1. Log into your Tutu Much account.
  2. Open the order.
  3. Click Report an Issue.
  4. Upload clear photos showing the problem.
  5. Include a written explanation.

Claims submitted after the inspection period may not be eligible for Buyer Protection.


Before Opening a Claim

We encourage buyers and sellers to communicate through Tutu Much messaging to resolve simple issues whenever possible.

Many problems can be resolved quickly without requiring a return.


Return Approval Process

If Tutu Much determines that the item qualifies for Buyer Protection:

  • A prepaid return shipping label may be provided (if applicable).
  • The buyer must return the item in the same condition it was received.
  • All included accessories, pieces, and packaging must be returned.

Once the seller receives the returned item and Tutu Much verifies the return, the buyer will receive a refund.


Refunds

Approved refunds will include:

  • Purchase price
  • Applicable sales tax
  • Original shipping charges (if required under Buyer Protection)

Refunds are typically issued to the original payment method within 5–10 business days, depending on the payment provider.


Seller Responsibilities

Sellers agree to:

  • Accurately describe every item
  • Photograph actual items being sold
  • Clearly disclose flaws, alterations, stains, missing pieces, or repairs
  • Ship items within the stated handling time
  • Package items securely to prevent shipping damage

Repeated violations may result in suspension or removal from the marketplace.


Condition Guidelines

Sellers should classify items honestly using the following categories:

New With Tags

Never worn and includes original tags.

New Without Tags

Never worn but tags have been removed.

Excellent Used Condition

Minimal signs of wear.

Very Good Used Condition

Light wear with no major defects.

Good Used Condition

Visible wear but fully functional.

Fair

Noticeable wear, repairs, or alterations that are fully disclosed.


Costume Alterations

Many dance costumes have been altered for individual dancers.

Sellers should disclose:

  • Hem adjustments
  • Strap changes
  • Added elastic
  • Removed embellishments
  • Rhinestone replacements
  • Built-in briefs or liners
  • Any permanent alterations

Alterations alone are not grounds for a return if they were accurately disclosed.


Missing Pieces

Listings should clearly indicate whether accessories are included, such as:

  • Headpieces
  • Arm bands
  • Gloves
  • Hair accessories
  • Ties
  • Hats
  • Belts
  • Bows
  • Props

If an accessory is shown in a photo but not included, the listing should clearly state this.

Failure to disclose missing major pieces may qualify for Buyer Protection.


Shipping Damage

If your package arrives damaged:

  • Take photos of the unopened package.
  • Photograph the shipping label.
  • Photograph all damaged contents.
  • Report the issue within 3 days of delivery.

Lost Packages

If tracking indicates a package has not been delivered:

  • Tutu Much will work with the shipping carrier and seller to investigate.
  • Buyers should not file chargebacks while an investigation is ongoing.

Canceled Orders

Orders may be canceled if:

  • Seller cannot fulfill the order.
  • Item was listed in error.
  • Item became unavailable before shipment.

Buyers will receive a full refund.


Chargebacks

Please contact Tutu Much before filing a credit card dispute.

Most issues can be resolved much more quickly through our Buyer Protection process.


Fraud Prevention

Tutu Much reserves the right to:

  • Deny fraudulent claims
  • Suspend accounts abusing the return system
  • Remove sellers who repeatedly misrepresent listings
  • Cancel suspicious transactions
